Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the beautiful Mid North Coast of New South Wales, in the City of Coffs Harbour. We are located adjacent to the picturesque Coffs Creek, and close to Coffs Harbour’s Jetty precinct.
Coffs Harbour is only an hour’s flight from Sydney with regular flights to and from our major regional airport, which is just 10 minutes away.
Our Sanctuary is all-weather and all access friendly.
Open 9am – 1pm daily.
The Peckish Penguin is ideally located alongside the pretty Coffs Creek, perfect for watching birds while sipping on a cup of coffee.
When you dine with the Peckish Penguin, you're supporting the rescue, care and conservation efforts of the Sanctuary.
Open 9am – 3pm daily.
Take home more than just memories from your visit to Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary. We always prefer to source sustainable, eco-friendly gifts using recycled materials as our first priority.
A professional photographer will be capturing moments at all paid encounters. You will have an opportunity to purchase at the end of your visit. There is no obligation to purchase photos, but the profits help care for our animals and contribute to our research and conservation programs.

Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable experience for all visitors. The Sanctuary offers full wheelchair access throughout the visitor areas, with pathways and facilities designed to support guests using wheelchairs, mobility aids, prams and walking supports.
We understand that every visitor’s needs are different, and our team will always do their best to provide respectful support where possible. Guests are encouraged to contact us before their visit if they have specific access requirements, so we can help plan the most comfortable experience.
The Sanctuary provides wheelchair access across visitor areas, including pathways, viewing areas, presentations, amenities, the gift shop and Peckish Penguin Café. Guests using mobility aids are welcome throughout the site, and our team can assist with information about the easiest pathways and access points on arrival.
Accessible bathroom facilities are available onsite.
We welcome visitors with sensory sensitivities and can provide support to help make the visit more comfortable. The Sanctuary is an outdoor environment and can include animal sounds, children’s groups, public presentations, café noise and changing weather conditions.
Where possible, our team can suggest quieter areas, less busy times to visit, and flexible ways to experience presentations or encounters. Guests or carers are welcome to speak with our team on arrival so we can help identify the best approach for the day.
For visitors who may benefit from a more personalised experience, please contact us before visiting to discuss available options.
The Sanctuary has limited dedicated support for visitors with vision impairment. However, our team will assist where possible by providing verbal guidance, describing key areas of the site, and supporting guests during presentations or encounters where appropriate.
Visitors with vision impairment are encouraged to attend with a companion or support person if they require ongoing assistance moving around the site.
Support workers, carers and companions are welcome. Please contact the Sanctuary before your visit if you would like to discuss ticketing, access needs or any specific support requirements.
Because the Sanctuary cares for wildlife, access for assistance animals is limited to the Peckish Penguin cafe. Please contact us before your visit so our team can discuss the best way to support your visit.
To help us provide the best possible experience, we recommend contacting the Sanctuary before your visit if you or someone in your group has accessibility, sensory or support needs.
You may take your own photos during the day.
